Common Group Health Insurance Questions

 


Do we have to wait to change Health Care Plans until our annual renewal  ?

  • This is one of  the most common misconceptions in regards to your Group Health Insurance. The answer is NO! Once you receive your rates for your group the rates are guaranteed for one year. However, if you find a better plan and rates during that 12 month period you are able to switch anytime.

What happens if I switch Group Health Plans in July and my employees have already met most of their deductible?

  • Suburban Underwriters will help facilitate what is called "Prior Deductible Carryovers". Most of our carriers will credit your employees and their families for any deductibles and Co-insurances met during the calendar year (January 1, thru December 31 of the current year.

My employees have many questions in regards to benefits?

  • With your consent we will conduct employees meetings to make sure your employees have a thorough understanding of the benefit package your offer. Your Human Resource staff has plenty of work to do already and we don't want to add to their burden. We will administer all aspects of your employee benefits.

  • Suburban Underwriters will keep our clients updated by making sure you receive all updates before they occur. Once again it is our responsibility to insure that you get all updates and guidelines as we receive them.
